Crazy… I did it on my second try, but I have tried around 25-30 times with Vicar Amelia and haven’t defeated her yet. I have been getting stronger though since my last attempt with her and plan to hopefully wreck her on my next attempt!

I intentionally got kidnapped by a snatcher to go to where Paarl is so I could befriend Djura before I attempted Amelia again.

Edit update: I ended up DESTROYING Amelia after I did everything else I possibly could before attempting her again, which also included doing the first two levels of the dungeons. 😁

She didn’t know what hit her lol. I only used one fire paper (I didn’t reapply it after it ran out), and my upgraded weapon helped with keeping her stun-locked the majority of the time. Woot!

It felt SO good getting revenge on her after all the pain and suffering she put me through when I was first trying to defeat her!

For anyone who is still having trouble on this boss, I want to share my strategy.

I was stuck on him for two days and used up almost all of my madman knowledge summoning help to defeat this darkbeast (why is he called darkbeast when he generates electricity?? Lol)

Anyway, the only thing that worked for me was to use the hunters axe and the R1 wide sweep attacks. I tried to stay behind him but I also got several good hits in standing in front while he was charging up. I was locked on him for the second half of the fight. (Switched strategies mid fight)
I got lucky cuz I somehow got his back into the corner and just kept swiping under him till he died. Usually he jumps all over the goddamn place on me but not that time. Also his last phase didn't really get a chance to effect me cuz I was on him the whole time.

Your main for in this fight is your stamina. Leave slight pauses to allow enough to recharge before swiping or dodging.

Here is a nice strategy to beat him:
-Use the hunters axe in its long form
-lock on to him
-bait his attack and dash under him when he strikes
-attack with the axe u will be able to hit his stomach once or twice stay if he moves dash away and repeat the procedure
-when he curls up for his exploding attack dash away from him at least 2-3 times should be enough to avoid it
- u will eventually be able to knock him on the ground. Take advantage of this moment to get as many hits as possible

U should be able to whoop his ass if u follow these steps

Dark Souls 3 was the first one I enjoyed playing, so I decided to go back and play Bloodborne after it.

Kind of a mistake. You can see in DS3 they learned a lot in how to make a better game, as in , yeah, the camera is not as bad in DS3 as it is in Bloodborne.

for anyone still having trouble with this: play unlocked. if you lock on, the camera adjustment will not let you attack his limbs but you'll instead hit his body. dodge roll like a madman INTO him when he does the claw swipe attacks, not away from him. some of his attacks will require you to dodge 2-3 times quickly to avoid them all. try to time them in a way that you end up directly under him at the end of your last dodge roll. it's tricky when you're playing unlocked because you also have to keep readjusting the camera, but keep trying and you'll be able to do it.

use a transformed weapon with a wide swing radius like the hunter's axe (+6) or ludwig's holy blade (+6) so that you can dish out as much damage as possible into the limbs without needing to be highly precise with where you're aiming (the limbs' hitbox is quite small). add the gold blood gem for the 12% attack boost vs. beasts that you get for beating Vicar Amelia. save your firepaper until he's at about 30% HP left, then get very aggressive with dodging into him, dodge roll away TWICE when he does the AOE electric blast attack, heal up when it looks like he's re-charging, and keep repeating. it's tough and i got lucky with some dodging towards the end but i was able to end him with 2 blood vials left.

also wear the Henryk the Hunter's Armor Set (Eileen's quest) or the Tomb Prospector's armor set, as they both have very good bolt resistance. you definitely need to be like Lv50 or so in order to take him on. Don't attempt this at lower levels or you'll end up ragequitting in frustration.
