Over four Saturdays, 289 guns were collected, including three assault rifles, said Linda Harvey of Transformation House of Lexington, one of the sponsors. Indiana men held after Owensboro chase OWENSBORO, Ky. An Indiana man faces multiple charges after a high-speed chase that ended when the truck he was driving crashed near Yelvington. Mark A. Cates, 35, of Evanston, was charged with nine counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and driving on a suspended license, said Owensboro police Sgt. Bruce Burns.

The chase began Saturday after Owensboro police tried to pull the truck over. The driver instead accelerated and headed out of Owensboro, Burns said. During the chase the truck allegedly struck an Owensboro Transit System bus with five passengers aboard and ran several motorists off the road, Burns said. The 20-minute chase ended when the driver tried to turn around after finding a bridge out, Burns said. The truck flipped on its side and hit a telephone pole.

Cates and a passenger, Gary Bloyd, 31, of Tell City, were treated for injuries and released into police custody. Bloyd was charged with permitting an unlicensed person to operate a vehicle because it was his pickup, Burns said. Bloyd. was also charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and intoxication. Brothers sought in Illinois killing arrested PADUCAH, Ky.

Two brothers from Illinois were charged in the murder of the girlfriend of one of the men after their car was stopped in McCracken County. Glenn Morrison, 46, and Jeffrey Morrison, 35, have been charged first-degree murder in the shooting of Roxane Colley, 33, of Brookport, the girlfriend of Glenn Morrison. Brookport is just across the Ohio River from Paducah. The men were in the McCracken County Regional Jail on a fugitive-from-justice charge. An extradition hearing will be held today.

Jeffrey Morrison also was charged with driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license. Glenn Morrison was also charged with alcohol intoxication. Neighbors of Colley said they heard a gunshot and then saw a car speed away with her 4-year-old twin sons inside Friday. Later that evening, McCracken County sheriff's deputies stopped a car that was weaving, said Chief Deputy Sheriff Terry Long. A check showed that Illinois authorities had issued an alert for the car.

Colley's sons were turned over to the Department of Social Services. It's where you celebrate Philip Georgetown, P. Falkingham formerly of 56, Louis- of Street. James A A. Maxey, funeral 83, will of be Olive held p.m.
